This one arrived by detour. The Japanese user boron (@boron_newwind) posted a two-word memo on X — "このプロンプトが好みすぎるので備忘録", roughly "this prompt is too much my taste, noting it down" — with a link to Threads and a before/after pair: a photo of two people walking down shrine stone steps, and the same scene flattened into a deep-navy-and-ivory poster with a flat red sun and crisp silhouettes. That memo alone pulled 8,207 likes, 8,449 bookmarks and 1.1 million views.

The prompt itself comes from ウキヨ (@ukiyo_teyanday on Threads), who built it and gave it away freely. On Threads it did even better: 8.6K likes on the main post, and 1.8K likes and 91.6K views on the reply carrying the prompt. The author's other examples show the range — Tokyo Tower as a flat vermilion-and-cobalt city poster, and a moon-viewing veranda scene in navy, gold and ivory.

What the prompt asks for is an image-to-image transformation: take a photo and rebuild it as a premium mid-century modern editorial poster with an even stronger than usual emphasis on flat design and planar composition. The interesting part is how much of it is prohibition. At the time of archiving the tweet had 8,207 likes, 503 retweets, 8,449 bookmarks, 1,118,394 views and 12 replies; the Threads prompt reply had 1.8K likes and 91.6K views.
